NEW! Southpointe Ballroom: Looking for a new venue in San Diego to throw a large wedding reception or a corporate event? The Hotel Del Coronado’s newest event center addition, the Southpointe Event Center, may be exactly what you are looking for. There are two stories of rooms, so much space to spread out in, yet ALL air-conditioned. There is even an elevator for difficult load-ins. As a photographer, I really appreciated the full-wall of windows in the breakout rooms upstairs. Perfect lighting for a bridal party getting ready to do hair, make-up, or photos. And of course one of the best beaches IN THE WORLD right outside and at your fingertips. It really doesn’t get better than that. Oh, I almost forgot, there is also a self-parking lot they recently moved underground which means less cars to view and more shade to park in during hot summer days. It’s a small but wonderful addition to the venue.

The wedding couple and their creative team transformed this spacious and airy ballroom into an very intimate, evening in the garden. I highly recommend working with a team that knows how to customize a room to the size of the guest list. The results were exceptional and so different. See if you can spy the “before photo” below.

The 15,130 sq. ft. clear-span ballroom offers approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of pre-function and breakout meeting space and can be configured into 10 separate meeting spaces.
