Nidom Resort – 1.5 hours south of Sapporo
After the reception at Elm Garden Restaurant in Sapporo city on the 6th we all hopped on a bus to the Nidom Resort about 1.5 hours south of town. (Check out the website I linked to at the start of this post – and take the time to wait for the photos to load!) At 11pm all 120 of us had checked into our personal 2 story log cabins for the night, this place, in the dark was amazing. Beautiful forests interspersed with the log cabins. We got up the next day, rented bikes to get around on and relaxed a bit before we had to start shooting at 1:30pm. This was a traditional western wedding with the white wedding dress, bouquet, cake & all the trimmings. Again, Jinly had everything timed to the second and everything was PERFECT.
(again – sorry, I can’t adjust images on my laptop)
Welcome Gifts featuring sweet specialties from Hokkaido
Hair & make-up – always with 2-3 people working all at once.
With Brother Jason
with Dad – same profile & look on their faces!
After the ceremony – exit – Jinly’s tiny nephew was really excited!
The venue’s photographer on a 12 foot ladder – HE did the group shots, yay!!!!
Hokkaido is known for their seafood. Here is just 10% of the spread… you are looking at pounds of Sea urchin roe… I’ve never seen this in my life. Sea urchin is considered a big delicacy and is always being featured as a prized ingredient on Iron Chef. These appetizers are being served in a sea urchin body minus the spikes.
At the end of the reception Jinly changed into a Chinese wedding dress (she is 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Chinese)
Kazuya in Jinly’s absence got a little hot on the dance floor
The typical western dance floor was going on, but with a twist… karaoke while dancing!
Jinly rented a party cabin for the after-party. Since the whole weekend was mostly Japanese, she instead did the Chinese decor here with red lanterns and Chinese candies.
