Overwhelmed by Smartphone Photos
Yes my friends, it has happened to me too.
In my professional life, I have every shoot coded, categorized, sorted, key-worded and backed up. In my personal life? Oh dear. I hate to admit this, but like everyone with a Smartphone (particularly apple) all my photos end up dumped in multiple folders with obscure titles and no organization. Fun.
So in the interest of getting myself dug out of a hole as well as ensuring my daughter’s first 3 years don’t just vanish, I’m on a printing mission. I mean really, I have photos of every moment of her life practically. Over 7000 images! I just can’t mess this up.
First up is sorting and labeling. How you might ask? Well, everything has a creation date. Thank goodness! Using a pro-software helps a bit. I’ll use my trusty Adobe Lightroom* software so I can catalog, tag and label. Then view my favorites and copy those to a new “keeper” folder for projects.
Then making galleries to share with family, albums, and wall prints, though Smugmug* (since I already use that on the pro side anyway).
I think I may be busy a while. Wish me luck.
